Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve failures in core Linux services such as Apache/Nginx, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and SSH.
Perform in-depth system and application log analysis (e.g., /var/log) to identify root causes of issues.
Manage users, permissions, sudoers, SSH keys, and file system access to ensure system security and stability.
Monitor system resources including CPU, RAM, IO, disk, and network using tools like top, htop, iostat, and netstat.
Identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations to improve system efficiency and reliability.
Diagnose and resolve complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 network issues including packet loss, latency, routing problems and intermittent connectivity.
Manage and troubleshoot routing, switching, Wi-Fi, VPN and firewall configurations in SMB and enterprise-entry environments.
Configure and manage Linux networking including bonding/teaming, static routing, DNS, and DHCP services.
Support server-to-storage connectivity using NFS, SAMBA, and iSCSI between Linux servers and NAS/storage systems.
Manage firewall rules, NAT, port forwarding, VPN access and secure remote connectivity.
Maintain documentation and follow structured troubleshooting practices.
Contribute to continuous improvement of IT operations and service delivery processes.
Good-to-Have Skills
CompTIA Linux+ or CCNA certification.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
Experience with monitoring tools and alerting systems.
Qualifications
